AIOFA Founder, Director, and Coach Gene Straughan has played or coached football for the past several decades. He was a quarterback, receiver, and defensive back during his playing days. Gene has coached a spread style offense at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. His 3rd-4th and 5th-6th grade teams have averaged 23 touchdown passes a season. His 2007 5th-6th grade team went 12-0 and threw 28 TD passes. Over the past few years, his Jr. High teams have posted a 20-4 record, averaging 29 touchdown passes per season. His 2007 Jr. High team went 6-0 and threw 37 TD passes. Gene was recently selected by the Washington State Football Coaches Association as the Jr. High School District IX coach of the year. He started the AIOFA to teach others how to play the quarterback and receiver positions. To him the game of football is about spreading the field and airing it out. |

AIOFA Coach Josh Straughan is a quarterback for Colton High School. He is a talented and hard working athlete who has played the quarterback position since the third grade. He threw 84 TDs in youth football and 59 TDs in middle school football. In high school, Josh scored 141 touchdowns. He completed 662 passes and threw 114 TDs for 10,407 yards with a 67% completion rate. As a senior, Josh completed 232 passes and threw 41 TDs for 3,548 yards and rushed for 796 yards and 19 TDs. He also was selected as a first team all league and all state quarterback, along with being named the Washington State 1B Player of the Year. Josh has attended several football camps and won awards, including the offensive player award at the Seattle NFL O-D camp. He is currently being recruited by several colleges and universities. Josh has coached for a few years and enjoys sharing his knowledge, experience, and love for the game with youth quarterbacks.

AIOFA Coach Jake Straughan is a quarterback for Colton High School. He is a talented and hard working athlete who has played the quarterback position since the third grade. He threw 89 TDs in youth football and 61 TDs in middle school football. Jake led his 5th-6th grade team to an undefeated season and league championship, passing for 28 TDs and over 1,200 yards. He also was selected to the Clearwater all league team as a quarterback. In high school, Jake as a freshman threw 24 TDs for over 1,500 yards and caught 5 TDs at the varsity level. This year, Jake as a sophomore caught 92 passes and 21 TDs for 1,553 yards. He also was selected as a first team all league and all state receiver. He has attended some of the best quarterback camps in the Pacific Northwest. Jake has coached for a few years and enjoys sharing his knowledge, experience, and love for the game with youth quarterbacks.
