AIOFA Coaching Staff

AIOFA Founder, Director, and Coach Gene Straughan has played or coached football for the past several decades. He was a quarterback, receiver, and defensive back during his playing days. He has coached a spread style offense at the elementary, middle and high school levels. His 3rd-4th and 5th-6th grade teams have averaged 23 touchdown passes a season. His 2007 5th-6th grade team went 12-0 and threw 28 TD passes. Over the past few years, his Jr. High team has posted a 20-4 record, averaging 29 touchdown passes per season. His 2007 Jr. High team went 6-0 and threw 37 TD passes. Gene was recently selected by the Washington State Football Coaches Association as the Jr. High School District IX coach of the year. He started the AIOFA to teach others how to play the quarterback and receiver positions. To him the game of football is about spreading the field and airing it out.  

AIOFA Coach Josh Straughan is a quarterback for Colton High School. He is a talented and hard working athlete who has played the quarterback position since the third grade. He threw 12 TDs in the 3rd grade, 17 TDs in the 4th grade, 25 TDs in the 5th grade, 29 TDs in the 6th grade, 21 TDs in the 7th grade, 37 TDs in the 8th grade, 8 TDs in the 9th grade, and 31 TDs in the 10th grade. He has attended some of the best quarterback camps. He won the offensive player award as a QB at the 2004 and 2005 Seattle NFL OD camps. He led his 2007 Jr. High team to an undefeated season, throwing 37 TDs for over 1,800 yards. This year, Josh as a 10th grader at Colton High School threw 31 TDs for 2,555 yards. He was also selected to the 1B southeast all league second team and honorable mention to the 1B all state team. Josh has coached for the past few years and he enjoys sharing his knowledge, experience, and love for the game with youth quarterbacks.

 

 

 

AIOFA Coach Jake Straughan is a quarterback for Colton Jr. High School. He is a talented and hard working athlete who has played the quarterback position since the third grade. He threw 17 TDs in the 3rd grade, 21 TDs in the 4th grade, 24 TDs in the 5th grade, 28 TDs in the 6th grade, and 29 TDs in the 7th grade. He has attended some of the best quarterback camps in the Northwest. He led his 2007 5th-6th grade team to an undefeated season and league championship, passing for 28 touchdowns and over 1,200 yards. Jake was also selected as a quarterback to the All Hays all-star team. He recently led his 2009 Jr. High team to a league championship, throwing 30 touchdowns for over 1,800 yards. Jake has coached for the past couple of years and he enjoys sharing his knowledge, experience, and love for the game with youth quarterbacks. 

 

AIOFA Coach Sam Robertson was a running back, receiver, and defensive back for Colton High School. He is a talented, intelligent, and hard working athlete. Sam had an outstanding career at Colton High School. He rushed for 3,952 yards and 54 touchdowns and caught 15 TD passes for 1,277 yards. In one game alone, Sam ran for 182 yards and added another 152 yards in receptions, earning him prep athlete of the week honors. He was also selected as a running back and defensive back to the southeast all league team and all state team. He is currently being recruited to play at the collegiate level. Sam has a passion for the game and enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience with receivers, running backs, and defensive backs.

 

AIOFA Coach Chase Druffel was a running back, receiver, and linebacker for Colton High School. He is an extremely talented and explosive athlete. Chase had an impressive career at Colton High School. He rushed for 543 yards and 9 TDs and caught 11 TD passes for 882 yards. In one game, Chase had over 180 all purpose yards and scored 3 TDs, earning him prep athlete of the week honors. He also made 147 tackles in his senior year alone. Chase was selected to the southeast all league team and all state team honorable mention. He should be recruited to play at the collegiate level. Chase has a genuine passion for the game and enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience with receivers, running backs, and linebackers.
